Dave Cervini : Founder/President
Originally from Long Island, Dave moved to La Mesa in 2023 and started the San Diego Social Network as an extension of what he had been doing in New York City for over 20 years with The New York Social Network. It was a way to make new friends and explore San Diego. Prior to that Dave spent 18 years in the broadcast industry with Promotion, marketing and on air personality positions at various New York Radio Stations. Dave does commercial voice over spots, appeared in local TV commercials and several episodes of the sitcom “Whoopie”. In 2004 he started The New York Social Network, an entertainment, planning and consulting company. He is involved with many charities including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Marty Lyons Foundation, Broadway Cares, Covenant House, Boy’s Town of Italy plus many local homeless shelters and food kitchens. In 2005 Dave was named Boys Towns of Italy’s Man of the Year. In 2010 Dave was honored with the Sepentia Doctrina Award from Fordham University for his work organizing young professionals in NYC’s spiritual communities. He graduated from the Ithaca College School of Communications. In December of 2023 Dave published a children’s book entitled “I Didn’t Know I Could Do It Until I tried It On My Own”.
Katie : Event Host & Admin
Katie was born and raised in San Diego, and while she’s had the pleasure of living for a couple of years in distant cities like Berkeley, London (UK), and Tel Aviv, she has always been drawn back home (as per the Eagles, “welcome to the Hotel California“). In addition to hosting, Katie is the General Manager for the SDSN and is the secondary point of contact for guest services. Outside of the SDSN, her main occupation is in medical records management. Katie holds a BA in History with an emphasis in Late Antiquity from UC Berkeley, and enjoys all the clichés of long walks on the beach, live music, smoothies, hanging out with friends, and–since we live in San Diego–a good fish taco!

Melissa is from San Diego, and loves to give recommendations for her favorite places in the county. She works mostly on the administrative side of things for the SDSN and is in charge of content creation. She handles the teams’ social media (@sandiegosocialnetwork), with some occasional hosting–she greatly enjoys helping people connect with each other! Melissa is a proud graduate of SDSU (Go Aztecs!) who holds a BA degree in Linguistics. Additionally, she is an avid writer of poetry, musical lyricist, and Human Bingo Card creator for our events. In her free time, she likes to read, watch 90s TV shows, and have deep conversations about life’s many meanings with her friends.
Erin : Event Host & Admin
Erin is a professional organizer, licensed real estate agent, and former casting director turned home harmony enthusiast who’s always been good at putting the right pieces in the right place—whether it was a sitcom cast, a closet full of coats in San Diego, or making the right introductions between guests at our social events.
She is a proud UC Irvine grad (zot zot!) with a BA in Film & Media. She originally set out to work in comedy casting (because laughter is the best medicine, unless you’ve tried labeling bins), and has spent over 15 years working on improv-heavy projects, helping discover talent in LA’s wild and wonderful comedy scene. She has toured with #IMOMSOHARD creating digital content for their hilarious and relatable mom-centric brand. When the pandemic hit, Erin realized that she wanted more time, more family, more friends, and a lot less traffic and returned to her home base in San Diego.
Today, outside of being an event host par excellence, Erin helps San Diegans organize their homes and their digital lives (yes, I’ll tackle your tangled inbox and Pinterest boards), prep for real estate transitions, downsize with compassion, and even stage homes to sell faster and for more.
